Founder’s Story: Jesslyn

Jesslyn co-founded EMBRACE Youth with her school peer, Ryan, after a purpose close to her heart. She lost both her parents during high school, a life-changing experience that shaped her outlook and resilience. Despite the challenges, she pushed herself to do better academically, stayed active in volunteering, and continued to take part in competitions.

Motivated by her own journey, Jesslyn began working with children in orphanages across Indonesia. Through EMBRACE Youth, she created programs that provide tutoring, school supplies, and mentorship. The initiative has since reached thousands of children and supported more than 20 orphanages.

In 2023, Jesslyn was one of only five Indonesians awarded the Singapore Ministry of Education’s School-Based Scholarship to study in Singapore—fulfilling her mother’s final wish. She hopes to pursue a career in education and remains committed to helping young people believe in their potential and shape a better future through learning.
